Utilization of Renewable Energy and Reduction of Energy Consumption

At ULVAC Coating Corporation, the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions—recognized as a key factor in global warming—has been established as a core component of our environmental policy. We are committed to conducting our business activities with full consideration for the global environment. As part of this commitment, we have been proactively installing solar power generation systems on our factories’ rooftops and carports, positioning renewable and clean energy as a sustainable alternative to fossil fuels. As a result, our total solar power generation capacity now exceeds 1 megawatt, reaching the scale of a mega-solar facility.
In terms of CO₂ reduction, this initiative contributes to an annual reduction of approximately 174.4 metric tons of CO₂. This achievement has enabled us to meet the Saitama prefecture’s global warming mitigation target of a 20% reduction (compared to 2005 levels). Furthermore, we are currently working toward achieving a 30% reduction by 2024.

Additional efforts include optimizing facility operations by switching cleanroom air conditioning systems to energy-saving modes during consecutive holidays or production line shutdowns, as well as seasonally adjusting chiller temperature settings. These measures promote more efficient energy use and contribute to further reductions in CO₂ emissions.

ULVAC Coating Corporation remains fully committed to the utilization of renewable energy and the reduction of energy consumption, as part of our broader mission to fulfill our environmental and social responsibilities.
